I have a main illness, lupus, including a physical handicap, plus ancillary medical issues: insomnia, arthritis, etc. plus the usual mammogram, pap smear, etc. The amount of energy it takes me even THINK of how I will get to a medical appointment given my hsndicap, let alone actually get there, is a huge barrier to taking care of my body. My way of dealing with it is often denial: I just dont want to deal with the broken body that I'm in. Thank you for sharing this. It makes me feel less alone.
